1 st Semester Courses
"Orientation to Teacher Education" (EDUC 101) is a one credit course that provides an overview of educational issues that will be discussed in more detail later in the program. EDUC 101 also introduces students to the departmental philosophy and reflective framework. The course is designed to help students decide whether they want to consider teaching as a career goal.
Students normally take five courses in addition to EDUC 101. Besides your two Learning Community courses, you should take a foreign language and also explore your interests from these options:
- The Making of America: 1607-1877 (History 257)
- Mathematics in the Modern World (Math 168)
- Introduction to Mathematical Thought (Math 187)
